Body of missing youth recovered from river
The body of a young man named Hossain Morol, 40, who went missing in the Mongla River, was recovered on Friday (May 15) morning.
About 27 hours after he went missing, local people recovered his body from the Chalna area under Dakop Upazila.
According to local sources, Hossain Morol had come to Mongla from Chalna with hatchery fry on Thursday (May 14) morning. At around 5:30 am, Hossain Morol, son of late Yunus Morol of the Chalna area under Dakop Upazila, fell from his trawler into the river and went missing.
Hossain Morol was a trawler driver by profession. He used to transport fish fry from different hatcheries to various places by trawler.
Following the incident, local residents, along with teams from the Mongla Fire Service Station and the Navy, took part in the rescue operation. Despite conducting a day-long search operation, they were unable to find him.
Finally, his body was recovered from the Mongla River.
