Litton’s masterclass century

Litton Das fought alone against Pakistan on the first day of the Sylhet Test at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on Saturday.

His brilliant century took Bangladesh’s tally past 250. Pakistan came out to bat when the Tigers were all out in the late afternoon.

The wicket-keeper batter hammered 126 off 159, smashing 16 fours and two sixes as Bangladesh recovered from a shaky start to compile a competitive 278 all out, before Pakistan reached 21 for no loss at stumps on Day 1.

Bangladesh could not take any wickets despite playing 6 overs. The visitors are slightly ahead in the match at the end of the first day.

Bangladesh scored 278 runs in their first innings in Sylhet Test after playing 77 overs and losing all their wickets. Litton scored the highest score of 126 runs for the team.

Pakistan scored 21 runs for no wickets in their first innings. The visitors trail by 257 runs with ten wickets in hand.

Pakistan came out to bat in the last hour of the 3rd session and played with batting intent.

They were given only 6 overs to bat on the day. Openers Abdullah Fazal and Ayaz Azanm passed this time safely.

Bangladesh could not break Pakistan’s opening pair despite trying with four bowlers in 6 overs.

Earlier, Bangladesh suffered a lot in the early part of the day. Joy missed the line with the first ball of the innings bowled by Mohammad Abbas.

However, he survived the leg before four as it was outside the leg stump. He took a catch at slip with the second ball.

Mominul and Tanjid tried to build a partnership after overcoming the initial setback.

Despite showing signs of a good start, debutant opener Tanjid was stopped for 26 runs off 34 balls. His departure broke the 44-run second wicket partnership.

Two experienced batsmen Mominul-Shanto didn’t last long. Khurram Shahzad broke a great delivery off stump.

Despite losing 3 wickets for 63 runs, Shanto-Mushfiq tried to build a strong foundation.

hanto, who was in great form, settled down on the wicket but was caught at slip while playing a shot. 29 runs came from his bat.

Mushfiq could not hold out for long. He was caught by Shahzad’s leg before four after scoring 23 runs off 64 balls.

Mehedi Hasan Miraz failed completely after falling for seven. When he returned after scoring 4 runs, the team lost 6 wickets for 116 runs.

Litton took charge of the team’s danger.

Taijul Islam kept him company for a while. Despite scoring only 16 runs, he played 40 balls. Taijul, Litton tried to move forward with Taskin.
