Allegations of misconduct with female official at Asian Beach Games
Bangladesh Athletics Federation’s member Nazir Mallick has been accused of misbehaving with a female liaison officer at the Asian Beach Games was held in Sanya, China last November.
The Bangladesh Olympic Association (BOA) and Bangladesh Athletics Federation have been shaken by the official complaint from the host country.
Chinese organising authorities raised objections to Najir Mallick’s behaviour towards a female liaison officer on duty during the Games. The matter was later conveyed to the BOA in writing.
After receiving the complaint, the BOA quickly contacted the Bangladesh Athletics Federation to seek an explanation for the incident.
Bangladesh Olympic Association (BOA) Secretary General Jobayedur Rahman Rana described the incident as ‘silly’. ‘It’s actually a very small matter.
Moreover, the girls who are Liaison Officers don’t understand English very well. Maybe they sent a warning letter to the BOA without understanding.
That’s why China has given importance to safeguarding (their own safety), and asked us to give importance to it too.
So from now on, we will give everyone a course on safeguarding before going abroad, just like the dope course.’ He said.
