IDCOL holds week-long capacity building workshops

Infrastructure Development Company Limited (IDCOL), Bangladesh’s first Direct Access Entity (DAE) to the Green Climate Fund (GCF), is organising a week-long series of capacity building workshops and awareness sessions from 17-21 May 2026.

The initiative aims to strengthen understanding of global climate finance mechanisms, concessional financing opportunities and access pathways under the GCF programme among key stakeholders in Bangladesh, according to a press release.

The workshop series will bring together representatives from government institutions, financial institutions, private sector organisations and development partners through a range of interactive sessions, technical discussions and knowledge-sharing engagements.

As the country’s accredited DAE to the GCF, IDCOL plays a key role in supporting country-led climate action by facilitating access to international climate finance for climate-resilient and low-emission development initiatives

The programme is expected to enhance institutional readiness, strengthen project development capacity and promote greater collaboration among stakeholders working towards sustainable and climate-resilient growth in Bangladesh.

Through this initiative, IDCOL reaffirms its commitment to enabling long-term climate finance solutions and supporting Bangladesh’s transition towards a resilient and sustainable future.
