DMP arrests 80 in city wide drives

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has arrested 80 people allegedly involved in various crimes during separate special drives carried out in different areas of the capital over the past 24 hours.

DMP Deputy Commissioner (Media and Public Relations) NM Nasiruddin confirmed the matter in a press release issued on Saturday. Of the arrestees, 49 were detained from areas under the Tejgaon Division, including Tejgaon, Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, Mohammadpur, Adabor, Tejgaon Industrial Zone and Hatirjheel police stations.

In another drive in Mirpur, police arrested 31 more individuals from areas under Mirpur Model Police Station.

The arrested individuals were sent to court, while drives will continue to maintain law and order stability, the release added.
