‘Industrialisation key alongside jobs for youth employment’
Industrialisation is necessary alongside job creation to ensure employment for the country’s large youth population, disaster management and relief Minister Asadul Habib Dulu said on Monday.
He made the remarks while inaugurating the PRAN-RFL Job Fair at Lalmonirhat Stadium as chief guest, according to a PID handout. The minister said industrialisation would create wider income opportunities for youth and help speed up the country’s overall economic progress.
Dulu also highlighted the agricultural strength of Lalmonirhat, saying the district’s fertile land supports large-scale production of rice, maize and potatoes. He called on industrial entrepreneurs to establish agro-based industries in the region to utilise local resources and expand employment opportunities.
He said such industries would help turn agricultural output into value-added products, strengthening rural economies and reducing unemployment pressure on cities. He added that balanced industrial development across districts is important for sustainable national growth.
The minister further said that youth employment must be ensured through both skill development and investment-friendly policies, so that young people can actively contribute to economic transformation.
The job fair was organised by PRAN-RFL Group on the minister’s request, aiming to provide employment opportunities to around 1,000 skilled and unskilled youths from the district.
