Govt to establish investment-friendly state system: PMO Adviser
The government is working on a broader plan to establish an investment-friendly state system in Bangladesh, said Dr. Mahadi Amin, spokesperson and adviser to the Prime Minister’s Office.
He stated that the country would be made more attractive for investment by ensuring transparency, accountability, and corruption-free services in trade and commerce.
He made these remarks as the chief guest at a crisis coordination meeting held in the conference room of the Narayanganj Deputy Commissioner’s Office on Sunday. Dr. Mahadi Amin said the current government is elected by the people’s vote.
Through free, fair, and credible elections, accountability to the people is being ensured.
He added that the government is working alongside the people for the welfare of workers, business owners, and the general public.
He also said that effective measures would be taken to ensure the timely payment of workers’ salaries, wages, and festival bonuses ahead of Eid-ul-Azha.
The Prime Minister’s adviser further noted that Bangladesh’s ready-made garment industry is currently the world’s second-largest export sector.
The government has taken long-term initiatives to elevate the industry to the top global position.
He said there are plans to introduce a one-stop service system to reduce corruption and complexities in company registration.
Unnecessary licensing procedures and harassment in running businesses will also be minimized to ensure easier and more modern services.
Dr. Mahadi Amin added that the government is working to attract foreign investment by creating employment opportunities, increasing tax incentives, and ensuring greater transparency in business operations.
At the same time, initiatives are being taken to expand policy support for the informal economy alongside the institutional industrial sector.
He further said that Narayanganj is one of the country’s major centers for industry and the textile sector.
Products manufactured in the district’s factories are being exported to various countries around the world. With collective efforts, Narayanganj can be transformed into a model of industrial development.
At the meeting, he praised the coordinated efforts of political leaders, public representatives, and the administration, saying that the country’s industrial sector would advance further through ensuring law and order, human rights, and accountability.
