Dev quits politics

Tollywood superstar Dev entered politics in 2014 with All India Trinamool Congress, led by Mamata Banerjee.

He served as a Member of Parliament for more than a decade.

However, following the political shift in West Bengal after the 2026 elections, a new reality is emerging for him.

Last Wednesday evening, Dev congratulated the Bharatiya Janata Party on their victory.

In a post on social media, he wrote, “Congratulations to the BJP for gaining public support to form the new government in Bengal.”

Meanwhile, after his party’s defeat in the West Bengal elections, Dev has expressed his intention to leave politics. He told Indian media that he now wants to focus more on acting rather than politics.
