‘ANNiE’ set for premiere at German Fest

Director Abdullah Mohammad Saad, who surprised audiences in 2021 with “Rehana Maryam Noor” starring Azmeri Haque Badhan, is returning to the screen after a five-year break with a new project.

This time, however, he is coming back not with a film but with a series titled ANNiE.

The lead role in the series is played by Nazifa Tushi. She is joined by Yash Rohan, Symon Sadik, Sarika Sabrin, Farhana Mithu, Nazah, and others.

The series is primarily a dystopian story, where Nazifa Tushi portrays the character of ANNiE.

Director Saad said, “The story, seen through the eyes of a complex character like ANNiE, is essentially a chamber drama.

Like my other works, it will question distrust, inequality, and violence within relationships between men and women.”

The series ANNiE is set to premiere at the Seriencamp Festival in Germany. It is the country’s first festival dedicated entirely to showcasing series.
