2 arrested for attempted robbery on tourists in Sundarbans
The Coast Guard has arrested two miscreants during an attack and attempted robbery on tourists in the Sundarbans.
Lt. Commander Sabbir Alam Sujan said that on last Monday (May 04) at 4 am a gang of miscreants broke the window grills of the Sundari Eco Resort, adjacent to Dhyangmari canal under Dakop Police Station in Khulna district and with the intensions of attacking and looting tourists.
The resort authorities gave a chase after the miscreants, Rajon Sardar (25) and Raton Sardar (14), involved in robbery, were arrested from the area, adjacent to Dhyangmari canal. Both of them are residents of DakopUpazila in Khulna district.
Lt. Commander Sabbir Alam Sujan, Media Officer of the Coast Guard Western Zone deployed Mongla (in Bagerhat district) gave this information to the media on a press release on Tuesday (May 05).
Initial interrogation revealed that they had been involved in theft and robbery for a long time. The arrested persons were handed over to Dakop PS (Police Station) for further legal action.
The Coast Guard official also said that the Coast Guard will continue such operations in the future to maintain the law and order situation in the country.
