Aminul takes charge as BRRI Director Gen

Eminent agricultural scientist Dr Aminul Islam has officially assumed charge as Director General (Routine Charge) of the Bangladesh Rice Research Institute (BRRI) on Monday, May 4, 2026.

Prior to this appointment, Dr Islam served as Chief Scientific Officer and Head of the BRRI Regional Station in Sonagazi.

A prolific researcher, Dr Islam has published more than 80 research articles in reputed national and international scientific journals.

He has also represented Bangladesh in various scientific forums in countries including the Philippines, Morocco, the United Kingdom and India, contributing to agricultural research and development.
