4 killed in truck-CNG collision in Muktagacha

At least four people, including three women, were killed and one was injured in a head-on collision between a truck and a CNG-run auto-rickshaw in Muktagacha upazila of Mymensingh.

The accident occurred in the Montola Samityghar area on the Mymensingh-Tangail highway on Monday.
According to police and eyewitnesses, a Mymensingh-bound CNG auto-rickshaw from Nandina in Jamalpur collided head-on with a sand-laden truck coming from the opposite direction.

The auto-rickshaw was completely crushed, leaving four passengers, including three women, dead on the spot.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Muktagacha Police Station Kamrul Islam said that the bodies have been recovered and taken to the police station, and efforts are underway to identify the victims. A crane is being brought in to remove the accident-involved truck from the road.

Two critically injured passengers were rescued and taken to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital, where one later died. The other injured person is currently undergoing treatment.

Following the crash, the truck lost control and overturned in the middle of the highway, disrupting traffic movement on both sides.

Police from Muktagacha Police Station and members of the fire service rushed to the scene and carried out rescue operations.
