Moushumi angry over release of film ‘Contract Marriage’

About three years ago, director and actor Hasan Jahangir announced that he was making a series titled ‘Contract Marriage’ with popular film actress Moushumi.

However, on Saturday, he announced that it is not a series, but a movie titled ‘Contract Marriage’ that will be released in theatres on May 15.

It has already received clearance from the Film Certification Board. Moushumi is angry after such news was published.

She said that she acted in a drama, which was supposed to be a tele-fiction but not a movie.

Not only that, she also raised questions about how it got clearance as a movie.

In this regard, Moushumi said, “‘Contract Marriage’ was a one-hour drama.

I agreed to act because Hasan Jahangir requested me a lot.

I shot for three days because I couldn’t finish it in two days.

A few days later, he told me that the footage was more than for a one-hour drama.

Now, if I try to sell it, I won’t get much money, the full cost won’t be covered.

So, he wants to make it a tele-fiction. I told him that I have no objection to it being a tele-fiction if the whole story is good.

Later, I shot for another day. But recently, I heard that he wants to release it as a movie. It has also received a censor certificate.

I was very surprised to hear this. With all due respect to everyone, I want to say that the matter is not going well.”

Expressing her anger, Moushumi said, “Where I don’t do films, I’m being used like a cut-piece with such a story. I didn’t expect this from Hasan Jahangir.

I don’t know how the censor (certification) board passed such a story. I feel very hurt.”

“Personally, I think it would not be right to release it as a movie. We have Directors, Producers and Artistes’ Associations.

I hope they consider this matter. He did not give me remuneration for movie either.

There is no dubbing, no proper content. It is very sad,” she added.
