Two films starring Bubly awaiting release

The government-funded film Sardarbarir Khela is set to be released in theaters across the country on May 8.

The release date was recently announced through the trailer published online.

The film is produced by Mir Zahid Hasan under the banner of Mrittika Chobighar.

Besides this, another film starring Bubly, titled Flashback, directed by Rashed Raha, is also awaiting release.

In Sardarbarir Khela, actors Ziau Roshan and Bubly have played lead roles.

The film revolves around the traditional folk sport of stick fighting (lathi khela) and portrays the struggles of the lathiyals.

It is directed by Rakhal Sabuj, marking his debut feature film.

It is worth mentioning that the film originally received government funding in the fiscal year 2022-23 under the title Pulsirat.

When it was submitted to the preview committee, they advised changing the name.

Later, it received its censor certificate under the new title Sardarbarir Khela.

Meanwhile, Flashback, directed by Rashed Raha, is primarily a Tollywood film.

Although production was completed in 2024, it was not released in West Bengal due to various reasons.

Most recently, its release was delayed because of the West Bengal elections.

Raha stated that they are planning to release the film after the election results are announced on May 4.

Following that, the process of releasing the film in Bangladesh will begin.

If possible, the film will be released simultaneously in both Bangladesh and West Bengal.

In Flashback, Bubly stars alongside West Bengal director-actor Kaushik Ganguly and actor Saurav Das.

The thriller film’s screenplay is written by Khairul Basar Nirjhar.

Meanwhile, Bubly has not made any comments regarding the release of the films.

She has also been unresponsive on mobile phone and social media.

According to a particular source, she is currently in the United States.

It is rumored that she has kept herself out of the public eye due to pregnancy, although no confirmation has been found.
