Sylhet residents await Prime Minister’s visit
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman will visit Sylhet for the first time after the election on May 2. Extensive preparations are underway across the city surrounding the Prime Minister’s visit, and a festive atmosphere prevails everywhere.
In view of this visit, multi-dimensional preparations are being carried out in coordination with the district administration, city corporation, and law enforcement agencies.
A preparatory meeting has already been held at the initiative of the district administration.
The main roads, important intersections, and establishments in Sylhet city are being redesigned.
Road repairs, pruning of roadside trees, and beautification of government buildings are in progress.
The Sylhet City Corporation has taken the initiative to keep the city clean by removing unnecessary banners and festoons.
In particular, intensive preparations are underway in the Sylhet Circuit House area. Officials from several departments are regularly visiting the site to ensure security, cleanliness, and mosquito control activities.
Miftah Siddiqui, Joint Organizing Secretary of the National Executive Committee of BNP, said that the people of Sylhet are fully prepared for the Prime Minister’s visit on May 2.
During the visit, she will hold meetings with party leaders and provide guidance on organizational matters.
He added that the people of Sylhet have always welcomed Tarique Rahman with joy and that this time, as he is visiting the city for the first time as Prime Minister, there is great anticipation among the people.
Sylhet Metropolitan Police ADC (Media) Manjurul Alam said that an overall security plan has been prepared for the visit and a detailed briefing will be provided soon.
Police Commissioner Abdul Quddus Chowdhury said that all necessary preparations are being made to ensure an uninterrupted visit.
Sylhet City Corporation Chief Executive Officer Mohammad Rezai Rafin Sarkar said that extensive preparations have been made across Sylhet city.
Multiple teams are working in the field to ensure cleanliness, beautification, and security, and all preparations will be completed before the scheduled time.
