Shilpakala Academy hosts 2-day dance festival
A two-day dance festival marking International Dance Day ended on April 29 at the National Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA), bringing together around 600 performers from nearly 50 dance troupes, said a press release.
The festival opened on April 28 with a colourful procession inaugurated by State Minister for Cultural Affairs Ali Nawaz Mahmud Khayyam.
Special guest Zahed Ur Rahman attended the event, while DG Rezauddin Stalin presided over the ceremony.
Opening-day performances featured groups including Sadhona, Nrityachhanda, Nrityalok, Swattik Shilpashram, Nrityajatan, Chhandasik, Nupur Dhwoni, Gurukul Cultural Centre, Kathakya, Anjoli Nrityangan and others.
The festival continued with performances from a wider lineup of troupes over two days and remained open to all audiences.
