One Bank appoints Iftekhar Ahmed Zafar

ONE Bank PLC has announced the appointment ofIftekhar Ahmed Zafar as Deputy Managing Director (DMD).

In his new role, he will lead the bank’s Transaction Banking and Investment Banking divisions, while also serving as Chief Strategy Officer for the bank.

Iftekhar brings over 23 years of extensive banking experience across Corporate & Institutional Banking, Financial Markets, Transaction Banking, and Finance. Prior to joining ONE Bank PLC, he held several senior leadership positions at Standard Chartered Bank in both Bangladesh and the UAE for over two decades.

He has strong expertise in structured products, derivatives, cash and trade services, financial risk management, and strategic planning.

In his most recent role, he was part of the largest Transaction Banking franchises in Bangladesh, where he played a key role in driving product innovation, enhancing digital connectivity, and delivering multi- currency solutions.

Iftekhar Ahmed Zafar holds both BBA and MBA degrees from the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), University of Dhaka. He has also completed various executive education programmers at leading global institutions, including the Indian Institute of management (IIM), INSEAD, and the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT).
