Remittance inflow registered 16.2pc growth till April 28

The country’s remittance inflow registered a 16.2 percent year-on-year growth, reaching US$2.91 billion in the first 28 days of April, according to the latest data released by Bangladesh Bank on Wednesday.

During the same period last year, remittance inflow stood at $2.503 billion. Cumulatively, expatriate Bangladeshis sent $29. 12 billion in remittances during the July to April 28 period of the current fiscal year 2025-26.

This marks a notable increase compared to $24.29 billion received during the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year.

The steady rise in remittance inflow continues to play a crucial role in strengthening the country’s foreign exchange reserves and supporting overall economic stability.
