



The biopic of pop icon Michael Jackson is performing exceptionally well at the Hollywood box office.
Directed by Antoine Fuqua, the film Michael is expected to earn $88 mn or more in its first three days in the United States.
Thanks to its strong popularity in international markets, box office analysts believe the film’s global earnings could easily surpass $180mn within the same period.
Earlier projections estimated the opening weekend gross to be between $65 mn and $70 mn.
This marks the biggest opening in the history of music-based biopics.
The previous records were held by Straight Outta Compton ($60.1 mn) and Bohemian Rhapsody ($55 mn).
