MonzurMofiz becomes Managing Director of Premier Bank

Md Monzur Mofiz has been appointed managing director of Premier Bank on the basis of a decision by the Board of Directors and with the approval of Bangladesh Bank for the next three years. His appointment took effect on Thursday.

Prior to this, he had been serving as managing director (current charge) of the bank since 14 December 2025.

Commenting on the appointment, Chairman of the bank DrArifurRahman said, “Md Monzur Mofiz brings extensive experience in the banking sector. We believe his capable leadership will further strengthen the position of the bank and play an important role in achieving sustainable growth.”

With more than three decades of banking experience, MdMonzurMofiz began his career in 1993 at Sonali Bank. He later served as managing director of ONE Bank. In addition, he has worked in various important positions at Dutch-Bangla Bank, The City Bank, AB Bank and Sonali Bank.

He obtained a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) and an MBA in finance from the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), University of Dhaka.

He has notable expertise in corporate banking, fund management, retail and SME deposit growth, and agent banking. The Board of Directors of the bank expressed optimism that, under his leadership, the institution would achieve its strategic goals and ensure sustainable growth.
