Gazipur police land plans reviewed today

The Ministry of Home Affairs will hold a meeting today to review proposals for land acquisition aimed at developing key facilities for police in Gazipur and Dhaka.

According to official sources, the meeting is scheduled to take place at 2:30pm at the home ministry’s office, chaired by the Joint Secretary of the Police-2 Wing.

The agenda includes three major projects. The first proposal involves acquiring 5.00 acres of privately owned land in Janer Chala Mouza under Kaliakair Upazila in Gazipur District for the construction of an in-service training center and firing range, reports BSS.

The second proposal seeks 5.00 acres of land in Kayetpara Mouza under Demra Police Station in Dhaka to establish a permanent logistics base for the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).

The third proposal involves acquiring an additional 10.00 acres in the same area for building a dedicated driving ground facility for the DMP.

Officials said that, if approved, the total 20 acres of land acquisition would significantly enhance the operational, training, and logistical capabilities of the Bangladesh Police.
The meeting will review the proposals in terms of necessity, feasibility, and administrative considerations before making further decisions.
