MTB Foundation marks World Water Day with ‘JolTorongo’
To mark World Water Day 2026 and this year’s theme, “Water and Gender”, MTB Foundation has inaugurated three Water Access Hubs under its “JolTorongo” project for vulnerable communities in Kagabala, Prem Nagar and Satbagh in Moulvibazar.
The project aims to support a large underprivileged population in the region by addressing long-standing safe water and sanitation challenges.
The initiative reflects MTB Foundation’s commitment to supporting the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 3 on good health and well-being and Goal 6 on clean water and sanitation.
“JolTorongo”, a WASH (water, sanitation and hygiene) initiative of MTB Foundation, seeks to turn awareness into practical action at the grassroots level.
MTB Foundation said it plans to expand the project to hard-to-reach areas across the country to ensure dependable access to safe drinking water and improved sanitation, while strengthening resilience against environmental vulnerabilities.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by MTB Foundation Chief Executive Officer SamiaChowdhury and associate NazmusSakib.
Among others, Director of Shepherds Bangladesh Wahidul Islam Sikder was also present at the event.
