NRBC Bank holds outreach training program on banking and microfinance in Rajshahi. Fahmida Chowdhury, Senior management and S K Tareq Nawaz, Chief Legal Officer among others were present at the program.

NRBC Bank’s Human Resource Training and Development Centre (HRTDC) has conducted a series of outreach training programmers in Rajshahi, aimed at strengthening efficiency, transparency, and risk management across general banking and microfinance operations.

The three-day initiative, held on 4, 5, and 6 April 2026, featured sessions titled: “General Banking Operation and NI Act”, “Microfinance Credit Operation and Risk Management”, and “Addressing Challenges in Banking Operation for Achieving Service Excellence”.

Senior management, including FahmidaChowdhury, Head of HRTDC and SEVP; S K Tareq Nawaz, Chief Legal Officer and SVP; MdRomjan Ali Bhuiyan, Head of SME Business Division and VP; and Asim Kumar Das, Head of Rajshahi Zone and SVP, attended the sessions. Officials from multiple branches and sub-branches in the Rajshahi zone also participated.

The programmer covered general banking operations, legal measures such as loan recovery, disbursement in SME and microfinance, supervision and recovery processes, customer assessment, risk management strategies, and the application of banking laws, regulations, and ethical standards.

FahmidaChowdhury stated that strengthening governance and efficiency in the banking sector is crucial for Bangladesh’s socio-economic development.

She emphasized that such programmed enhance both the professional skills of officials and the quality of customer service. Similar training initiatives will continue to address region-specific needs and ensure inclusive participation across the bank.

S K Tareq Nawaz, Chief Legal Officer, highlighted the importance of rigorous borrower assessment, proper documentation, and strengthened field-level monitoring to mitigate potential risks.

He underscored the necessity of legal awareness and strict adherence to procedures for reducing non-performing loans, and detailed the processes involved in legal case management.

MdRomjan Ali Bhuiyan, Head of SME Business Division, noted the pivotal role of inclusive banking in expanding access to financial services. He emphasized microfinance’s potential to drive entrepreneurship and rural development, while stressing the importance of client selection, loan disbursement, monitoring, and recovery.
