Chinese envoy meets water resources minister

Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Yao Wen paid a courtesy call on Water Resources Minister Shahiduddin Chowdhury Anee, MP, at the minister’s office at the Parliament Secretariat (Jatiya Sangsad) on Tuesday.

State Minister for Water Resources Farhad Hossain Azad, MP, was also present at the meeting, said a press release here on Tuesday afternoon, reports media.

Welcoming the Chinese envoy, the minister said Bangladesh and China are long-standing, time-tested friends.

Speaking at the meeting, Anee mentioned that he had earlier exchanged greetings with the Chinese ambassador following an invitation from him.

During the discussion, Ambassador Yao Wen expressed China’s eagerness to work with Bangladesh to maintain the balance of water resources and protect the environment.

Earlier, the ambassador greeted the minister with a bouquet of flowers.
