Sylhet fuel sector strike called off
The indefinite strike called by Sylhet Petrol Pump Association, Bangladesh CNG Filling Station and Conversion Workshop Owners Association, LPG and Tank Lorry Organization has been called off.
On Thursday (April 2) afternoon, Sylhet Police Commissioner Abdul Quddus PPM, Deputy Commissioner Md. Sarwar Alam, Superintendent of Police Dr. Chowdhury Md. Jaber Sadek and political leaders held discussions with Sylhet Petrol Pump Association, Bangladesh CNG Filling Station and Conversion Workshop Owners Association, LPG and Tank Lorry Organization. The strike was called off after assurances from the administration in the discussions.
It is worth noting that the leaders of all petrol pumps and CNG refueling stations in Sylhet division had called for the strike in protest against the mobile court fines and allegations of extortion at various places at petrol pumps in Sylhet division.
The leaders of petrol pumps and CNG filling stations said that for a long time, the administration had been fined petrol pumps on various pretexts through mobile courts and extortion at various petrol pumps and CNG filling stations in Sylhet.
In protest against this, an indefinite strike was called from Wednesday night. On Thursday, the strike was withdrawn after the administration and political leaders assured a proper solution.

Fahim, Jihad Ahmed, Khan Md. Farid Uddin Babar, Sayem Ahmed, Loksan Ahmed Masum, Monowar Hossain, Saimun Alam Cebu.
