PM Tarique writes to UAE President expressing solidarity
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, in a letter addressed to President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, has conveyed Bangladesh’s firm solidarity with the leadership and the brotherly people of the country in the context of the ongoing conflict situation.
The Prime Minister also expressed deep concerns over the attacks, the loss of lives, injuries, and damage to property
Foreign Affairs Adviser to the Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Humaiun Kobir, on Wednesday evening called on UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan and handed over the personal letter from the Prime Minister of Bangladesh, addressed to the UAE President. The Foreign Affairs Adviser is currently undertaking a visit to several Gulf countries as the ‘Special Envoy’ of the Prime Minister to convey his messages to the leadership and to further reinforce Bangladesh’s engagement with the region.
The Prime Minister conveyed his sincere appreciation for the continued support extended by the UAE government in hosting a large number of Bangladeshi expatriates and for the measures taken to ensure their safety and well-being.
He reiterated Bangladesh’s readiness to extend any necessary support, should it be considered useful by the UAE authorities. Prime Minister also invited UAE President to visit Bangladesh.
During the meeting, the UAE Foreign Minister expressed his government’s deep condolences on the killing of two Bangladeshi expatriates in attacks on UAE, said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The UAE Minister reiterated their commitment for ensuing protections of people living in UAE irrespective of their nationalities.
He also expressed his government’s gratefulness for the solidarity and support of Bangladesh with UAE government and its people.
The Foreign Affairs Adviser commended the restraint demonstrated by the UAE leadership and underscored the importance of resolving disputes through dialogue and diplomatic means.
The discussion also covered the excellent state of bilateral relations between Bangladesh and the UAE, with both sides reaffirming their shared commitment to further strengthening cooperation across sectors of mutual interest.
