Twin brothers killed in Madhukhali train accident
Two twin children of the same family were killed in a heartbreaking train accident in Madhukhali upazila of Faridpur on Wednesday. The tragic accident occurred when a Bhatiapara-bound train leaving Rajbari reached the rail gate area of Bhushana Laxmandia village in Nowpara union of the upazila at around 1:15 pm on Wednesday.
The names of the two deceased children are Md. TaibTahrim (4 and a half) and Md. Tahmid (4 and a half) years old. They are the twin children of Md. Akash Sheikh of Bhushana Laxmandia village. It is known that after a long wait, the family got these two children as a gift from God. They are the first children in their family. Their untimely death has cast a shadow of grief over the entire area and the family.
Akash Sheikh, the father of the deceased, said that he goes to work at a cosmetics shop in Faridpur city like every day. Suddenly, he received news that his two children had been cut off on the railway track.
When he immediately contacted his wife, he learned that the children had been searched for about 20 minutes before the train arrived, but they were nowhere to be found. Later, news came that they had been crushed under the train. Hearing this, he was speechless.
Immediately after the incident, the station master of the local Madhukhali Railway Junction, Md. Kausar Mahmud, arrived at the scene and confirmed the death. Legal action is under process in this regard.
In this regard, Madhukhali Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Fakir Md. TaizurRahman said that the police quickly reached the scene after receiving the news. Since it is a railway accident, further legal action will be completed after the presence of the railway police.
This tragic incident has cast a shadow of grief over the family as well as the entire area.
