5 crushed by train in Tangail

Five people including three from the same family were crashed and killed when a train ran over them in Kalihati upazila of Tangail on Friday.

The accident took place at around 8 pm at a place called Dhlatengor in the upazila.

However, the identities of the deceased could not be immediately ascertained.

Tangail Railway Station Outpost SI Mizanur Rahman said that when a Dhaka-bound passenger bus ran out of fuel at a place called Dhlatengor in Kalihati upazila, some passengers got off the bus and sat on the railway line next to the Dhaka-Tangail-Jamuna Bridge highway.

At that time, a child, two women and two men were crushed under the Sirajganj Express train and died on the spot.

However, it is believed that all the deceased were from the same family.
