Asian Games Hockey Qualifier rescheduled

The date of the Asian Games Hockey Qualifier has been rescheduled due to the war of USA-Israel-Iran. The venue of the Qualifier also has been changed.
The Qualifier was scheduled to be held at Muscat, the capital city of Oman from March 28. But due to the war the matches of Asian Games Hockey Qualifier will be held at Bangkok, the capital city of Thailand. The matches will be held from April 2 instead of March 28. Bangladesh Hockey team will leave the city for Thailand on March 31. Earlier, Bangladesh team were scheduled for Oman on March 25.
A total of nine teams splitting into two groups will take part in the Asian Games Hockey Qualifier. Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Chinese Taipei and Uzbekistan are in Pool-B, while Hong Kong, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Oman and hosts Thailand are in Pool-A.
Bangladesh will take on Chinese Taipei on April 2, Bangladesh will face off Sri Lanka on April 3, Bangladesh will meet Uzbekistan on April 6. Top six teams will qualify for the Asian Games Hockey Competition 2026 in Japan.
Coach of Bangladesh Hockey team Ashiquzzaman said to a local website, ” We have taken a good preparation. Bangladesh cut a brilliant figures in the Asian Games Hockey Qualifier for several times. We shall go there to bring a good result from Asian Games Hockey Qualifier.”
Earlier, Bangladesh Hockey Federation (BHF) announced the 26-member preliminary squad for Asian Games Hockey Qualifier.
