Man found dead near DMCH

An unidentified man was found dead near the mosque of the new building of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) on Wednesday morning.

The man, aged around 49, was taken to the hospital’s emergency department at about 10:30am in an unconscious condition. Doctors on duty declared him dead on arrival, said Md Azim, ward master of the new building, reports media.

Shahbagh Police Sub-Inspector Md Faruk said they questioned locals at the scene but could not confirm his identity.

“Efforts are ongoing using technological methods to identify him,” he said.

The body has been kept at the DMCH morgue for post-mortem, and legal procedures are underway, he added.
