Jamaat Ameer to pay tribute at Nat’l Martyrs’ Monument

Shafiqur Rahman, Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami and Leader of the Opposition, will pay tribute at the National Martyrs’ Monument on March 26 on the occasion of Independence and National Day.

He will visit the Savar memorial as part of the state programme and offer prayers, according to a press release issued by the party’s central publicity department, reports media.

The release also announced a two-day programme by the party to observe the Independence Day.
As part of the programme, Jamaat will hold a discussion at Jatiya Press Club at 3:00pm tomorrow.

The party ameer, along with central and city leaders, will attend as chief guest and speaker.

On March 26, the party will hoist the national flag at its central office. Discussion meetings and prayer sessions will also be held at all organisational levels, the release added.
