BGMEA warns members about US firm Zinntex over payment issue

The Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) warned its members to be cautious while doing business with the American sourcing company Zinntex.

The BGMEA, in a letter sent to its members, said Zinntex bought 96,576 pieces of garment items from the local Doreen Garments Ltd, worth $678,412.92, but did not make payment, although the goods were shipped in favour of Zinntex.

In the letter sent on March 16, the BGMEA also asked members to supply information on their payments and business dealings with this company to the association soon.

BGMEA also noted that several other member companies are currently exporting to the same buyer.
Members have been advised to inform BGMEA before doing business with Zinntex LLC. Companies that proceed without notifying BGMEA will be fully responsible for any issues that may arise with the buyer in the future.
