Robi launches play zone for children at Thalassemia Hospital

Robi Axiata PLC has launched a play zone for child patients at the Bangladesh Thalassemia Foundation Hospital as part of its Ramadan campaign, “Chotto Ekta Kaje Hajaro Ichchhepuran”, reaffirming its commitment to impactful community engagement.

The initiative seeks to bring moments of joy to children living with thalassaemia, who frequently require long-term treatment and regular hospital visits.

Outfitted with toys, colorful elements, and entertainment items, the play zone provides a dedicated space for children to play and relax. During the inauguration, Robi employees visited the hospital, spent time with the children, and distributed gifts to young patients.

As part of the same campaign, Robi extended support to Muraichara Tea Garden Shishu Shikkha Kendra in Moulvibazar, a school revived by local resident Sagar Tirki after a prolonged closure.
Robi contributed educational materials, WiFi connectivity, a smart TV, and a water filter to aid the school’s revival.

Additionally, Robi distributed clothes and gifts ahead of Eid to children at Nindpur Jameya Islamia Ibrahimia Qawmi Madrasa and Orphanage in Matlab upazila, Chandpur, enabling them to partake in Eid celebrations.

Robi stated that the central message of the “Chotto Ekta Kaje Hajaro Ichchhepuran” campaign is that small initiatives can inspire broader action, driving meaningful social change through simple acts.

Commenting on the campaign, Robi Chief Commercial Officer Shihab Ahmad said, “As in previous years, we initially planned a Ramadan advertisement to touch millions of hearts.

However, we decided instead to pursue meaningful action for society through small initiatives.
We believe this shift in approach can positively transform our communities and the country.”
