One held with 18 kg of hemp in Daudkandi

Police have arrested a man with 18 kilograms of cannabis and seized a private car at a checkpoint on the Dhaka-Chattogram highway toll plaza in Daudkandi, Cumilla.
Acting on a tip-off, SI Komolkrishna Saha of Daudkandi Model Police Station and his team conducted a search at around 5:00 am on Monday (March 2) on a suspicious private car (Dhaka Metro-Ga-14-7772) heading towards Dhaka. During the search, they recovered 18 kilograms of cannabis wrapped in several packets inside the vehicle. The car was subsequently seized.
The arrested individual has been identified as Md. Jamir Hossain Jony, son of the late Mojibur Rahman of Tollabakhon Nagar.

OC (In-Charge) of Daudkandi Model Police Station, M Abdul Halim, said, “While on duty, our team stopped the suspicious private car at the checkpoint and recovered this large quantity of cannabis during the search. Legal action has been taken against the arrested person as per law.”
