Liberation war veteran seeks Public Aid to save daughter’s life from heart defect

City Desk :

Sheikh Ikram Hossain, a 1971 Liberation War veteran, has made a public appeal for financial aid to fund urgent heart surgery for his young daughter, Mosammat Remi Akter, who is battling a severe cardiac condition and disability.

In a heartfelt letter circulated widely, the struggling father from Dakshin Banshree explains that his meager income cannot cover the family’s needs, let alone the Tk 2.5 lakh required for initial treatment and an additional Tk 2 lakh for the critical operation.

“My daughter cannot sleep or speak due to this agonizing heart defect,” Ikram states. “Doctors insist on immediate surgery, but I simply cannot afford it.” Remi, a small child enduring constant pain, represents the plight of many families left vulnerable despite a father’s heroic past. Ikram, who fought as an assistant freedom fighter in 1971, now resides at 1135/Pashchim Nandipara, Titas Road, Dakshin Banshree, Dhaka.

He has shared donation details for those moved to help: Bank Limited Account No. 111-1080; bKash No. 01914865670; Mobile: 01914865670.

“Your small contribution could be her lifeline,” Ikram urges, invoking divine blessings for donors. “
