Election manifesto of Bangladesh Khelafat Majlis released
City Desk :
Bangladesh Khelafat Majlis has announced a 22-point election manifesto ahead of the upcoming national parliamentary election.
The manifesto, divided into five chapters, clearly outlines the party’s political ideology, moral stance and fundamental principles of state governance.
The manifesto was formally unveiled on Friday at 11:00am by the party’s Ameer, Maulana Mamunul Haque, at a press conference held at the organisation’s central office in Paltan, Dhaka.
The document presents a comprehensive and pragmatic roadmap to overcome the country’s political, economic and social challenges, based on an analysis of prevailing national realities.
The five-chapter manifesto, comprising a detailed introduction and conclusion, elaborates the party’s ideological position, ethical framework and approach to running the state. The first chapter describes what the party terms nearly 16 years of continuous authoritarian rule from 2008 to 2024, citing allegations of one-sided elections, deprivation of voting rights, enforced disappearances, extrajudicial killings, suppression of freedom of expression, politicisation of the administration and judiciary, and widespread corruption leading to the erosion of state institutions. It also calls for impartial investigations, justice and state accountability in line with international standards.
The programme was conducted by Senior Nayeb-e-Ameer and Election Steering Committee convener Maulana Yusuf Ashraf, with senior party leaders and central figures present at the event.
