To increase professionalism on Software Development and project Management Methodology, a day long “Agile Bangladesh Conference 2015” was held at DIU Auditorium on Friday for the first time in Bangladesh. The conference was jointly organized by the famous education provider Daffodil Institute of IT (DIIT) and MIS consultancy.
Shyam Sunder Sikder, Secretary, ICT Division of Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology inaugurated the conference as chief guest. Presided over by Md. Sabur Khan, Chairman, Daffodil Group, the inauguration session was also addressed by Mohammad Nuruzzaman, Executive Director, Rathindra Nath Das, Director of DIIT, Sarwar Hossain Mollah, Chief Coordinator of the conference and AZM Kamruzzaman, Chief Executive Officer of MIS Consultancy.
Now-a-days Agile is a very effective and famous methodology for software development. There were 2 International speakers Agile Coach Kok Ewe Sieo (Intel, Malaysia) and Falguna Ramaraju, Agile Coach, India and 2 National speakers Mahmudur Rahman Manna, Country Director, EUSIA Bangladesh Ltd., Al Mahbubul Alam Rony, Head of Project Office, Ericsson, Bangladesh joined the conference to deliver and conduct the sessions practically about the different areas of agile methodology.
 Speaking on the occasion Shyam Sunder Sikder said, this type of conference plays an important role in the development of country’s ICT sector. He stressed on to organize such type of conference and workshops with the participation of foreign and local IT experts in Chittagong, Rajshahi, Sylhet, Khulna, Barishal and other important district level to faster ICT development of the country.
Praising the talents and wisdom of the youths Secretary said, Youths always play an important role for the use, application and development of ICT of any country worldwide and we are blessed that 65% of our total population is youth (under 35 years) and the development of the country is must – if we can utilize, trained up and grow expertise this huge number of population in ICT. Our youths have already started working in world’s renowned organizations like Google and Facebook and proved their expertise and talent, he added.
He urged the university teachers, trade body and government officials to work together with correlation and collaboration for the development of country’s ICT sector. Not only government can alone develop the ICT sector, it requires Public-Private- Partnership ( PPP), he opined.  
About 200 software developer, tester, designer, architecture, Team leader, project manager, CEO, CTO, COO, academic and researcher attended the conference.
