2 Sirajganj children died in wall collapse

In Sirajganj Sadar Upazila, two children were killed and 2 children were injured after a hand washing basin in a market collapsed and buried under the wall.

The incident took place at Shalua Vita Market of Khokshabari Union on Sunday 26th January afternoon. Abed Hossain (2) son of Menhaj of Shailabari village, Sanjida Khatun (2) daughter of Chamidul Islam of the same village. Residents and eyewitness relatives said that on Sunday afternoon, Public Health Engineering Department had constructed a basin for washing hands at Shaluavita Hut during the corona period.

4 children were playing on the abandoned basin when suddenly the basin collapsed and 4 people were buried.
After they were rescued, the doctors on duty declared Raihan and Sumi dead in Sirajganj 250 bed general hospital.

The incident has cast a shadow of mourning on the area, Sadar police station OC Shahidul Islam.
At around 7 o’clock in the evening, the police were sent to the spot after receiving the news, the relatives took the dead children home, on the other hand, the Deputy Commissioner formed a 3-member investigation committee in the incident, the Deputy Commissioner and UNO visited the incident spoat,20 thousand taka have been given to the families of the 2 deceased children.
