BNP candidate for the Dhaka-7 constituency, Hamidur Rahman Hamid, carried out an extensive election campaign in Kamrangichar on Saturday, holding a series of yard meetings and road rallies across different areas of Ward No. 57 throughout the day.

As part of his grassroots outreach, Hamid interacted directly with local residents, listening to their concerns and outlining BNP’s vision for restoring democratic governance, ensuring public safety, and addressing rising living costs. Party leaders said the candidate’s door-to-door engagement reflects BNP’s renewed emphasis on voter-centric campaigning ahead of the upcoming parliamentary election.

In the evening, Hamidur Rahman formally inaugurated his election office at Ward No. 31, located at KM Azam Lane. The event drew a large gathering of party activists and supporters.

Among those present were Dhaka South BNP Joint Convener Mosharraf Hossain Khokon, City South Convener Committee member Arifur Rahman Nadim, Nasrin Rashid Putul, Haji Tipu Sultan, former senior vice-president of Chawkbazar Police Station unit, Shakil Ahmed Julet, senior vice-president of Ward No. 31 Bangshal Police Station unit, along with other local leaders and activists.

Speakers at the programme said BNP’s election campaign is being conducted in line with the strategic directives of party’s acting chairman Tarique Rahman. Under his guidance, the party has prioritised grassroots mobilisation, peaceful mass participation, and issue-based campaigning focused on economic recovery, rule of law, and democratic reforms.

Party insiders noted that Tarique Rahman has instructed candidates to maintain close contact with voters, avoid provocative rhetoric, and highlight BNP’s past governance record while presenting a future-oriented agenda. The campaign strategy also places importance on youth and women’s participation, neighbourhood-level meetings, and strengthening ward-based organisational structures.

Leaders expressed optimism that BNP’s disciplined and people-oriented campaign approach would resonate with voters in Dhaka-7 and across the capital.
