CVASU campus abuzz with new students
The university campus has become bustling with new students admitted to the Chattogram Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (CVASU) for the 2025-2026 academic year.
The university authorities are organising a week-long orientation programme to welcome the new students and provide guidance on the rules and regulations of university life, academic activities, co-curricular activities, and other aspects.
The commencement ceremony of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine was held at the CVASU Auditorium on Monday. The chief guest was the Vice-Chancellor of the university, Professor Dr. Mohammad Lutfur Rahman.
The special guests were the treasurer of the university, Professor Dr. Md. NurulHaque, Director (External Activities) Professor Dr. AKM Saifuddin, Deputy Chief Epidemiologist, Divisional Livestock Department, Chattogram, Dr. ZakirulFarid and Managing Director, MAS Additives Limited, Dr. Riazul Islam.
The programme was presided over by Professor Gautam Kumar Debnath, Dean, and Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. The welcome speech was delivered by Director (Student Welfare) Professor Dr. Mohammad RashedulAlam.
Later, Director (External Activities) Professor Dr. AKM Saifuddin gave a presentation on the career of veterinary students. On the same day, the inauguration ceremony of the Faculty of Fisheries was held at the CVASU Auditorium.
The Dean of the Faculty, Professor Dr. Md. Faisal, presided over the ceremony.
In speech as the chief guest, Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Mohammad Lutfur Rahman told the students “Don’t think that you have come to the university just to earn a certificate.
