Most polling centers in Rajshahi division marked as risky

The total number of voters in 39 parliamentary constituencies in the 8 districts of the Rajshahi Division of the Northern Region is 1 crore 54 lakh 103 people, the voters will exercise their right to vote in 5 thousand 504 polling stations, most of these polling stations are dangerous, the source of the divisional election office said that the recruitment and training of necessary manpower including presiding and polling officers is going on for healthy polling, but the law and order of the center will be looked after by several agencies of the government including the police, according to the latest evaluation and report of the special branch of the police. More than half of the polling stations in Rajshahi Division have been identified as dangerous and there is a record of law and order deviation and violence in these polling stations. Police and related parties should work to prevent any kind of violence in these polling stations on February 12.

When asked about this, Rajshahi Range DIG Dr. Muhammad Shahjahan PPM said on Saturday afternoon that the total strength of police in 8 districts of Rajshahi Division is more than 11000 thousand. Besides, a combined force of various forces of Police Ansar will be deployed in each polling station.

The type of polling stations and the risk assessment will be carried out until the day before polling. All the possible initiatives and efforts of the police are continuing to conduct the polls in a fair manner.

According to the sources of Rajshahi Range Police, 2786 out of 5504 polling stations have been identified as initially risky, besides 1307 of the remaining centers are partially risky, in order to reduce the risk of these centers, the candidates contesting in the parliamentary seats will be continuously discussed with people of various professions.

There will be no shortage of necessary preparations to ensure fair polling. All those who are responsible for polling stations have been instructed to take action strictly according to the law.

Out of 983 centers, 501 are more risky. The remaining 482 are general polling centers. On the other hand, the total number of voters in 6 constituencies of Rajshahi is 22 lakh 92 thousand 178 people.

These voters will vote in 778 polling centers of the district, 439 centers have been listed as risky, besides, the total number of voters in 3 constituencies in Chapainawabganj is 14 lakh 21 thousand 660 people. 515, of which 342 are vulnerable.
