RU admission candidate held with devices

A candidate appearing for the ‘A’ Unit admission test of Rajshahi University (RU) was arrested with a mobile phone and a pocket router at a centre of Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR). Later, a mobile court sentenced the candidate to one month’s imprisonment.

The matter was confirmed on Saturday afternoon by the university’s Proctor, Dr Ferdous Rahman.

Earlier, at around 10:30am, the candidate identified as GM Sarwar Ahmed was detained by the proctorial team while entering the main gate of the examination centre. He was subsequently handed over to the police.

An Executive Magistrate then conducted a mobile court and awarded him one month’s imprisonment.
