Women’s cricket champ begins

The Inter-University Women’s Cricket Championship, initiated by the Southern University Sports Committee, began on Wednesday, at Bayezid Arefin Nagar Campus. The tournament was inaugurated by Professor Chowdhury Mohammad Ali, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Sociology and Law.

The inaugural ceremony, moderated by Assistant Director (Sports) Saifullah Chowdhury, was attended by Registrar AFM Modachher Ali, Convener of the Sports Committee and Head of the General Education Department Mohammad Jamir Uddin.

Proctor Sheikh Md. Habib Ullah, Deputy Registrar Helal Noor, Deputy Director Md. Saidul Islam Chowdhury, Head of the English Department Arman Hossain, Deputy Director of the Physical Education Department of CU Md. Shoaib, teachers and staff of various departments.

Five higher education institutions are participating in the tournament. In the opening match, Southern University won against Port City International University and in the second match, Chattogram University won against East Delta University. The other team in the tournament is Chattogram Cantonment Public School and College.
