Jubo Dal builds Cyclone damaged bridges

Two bridges over the Algipatakata Canal and Badura Canal in Dhanyasafa and Mirukhali Unions of Mathbaria Upazila of Pirojpur were damaged by Cyclone Amphan, but were not built for 6 years. As a result, the suffering of at least 15,000 people in 7 villages is now at its peak due to the fact that the two bridges have been broken for a long time.
The matter came to the attention of local Jubo Dal leaders and activists. Later, the central Jubo Dal leader AR Mamun Khan built the two bridges with his own funds. AR Mamun Khan, former international affairs co-editor of the central Jubo Dal, inaugurated the two bridges on Monday.
Present at the time were former Upazila BNP co-organizer Ohiduzzaman Milton, former Upazila Jubo Dal member secretary Tahsin Jamal Rumel, former district Chhatra Dal vice-president Imran Hossain Moni, and Union Jubo Dal leaders and activists.
Local residents said that even after 6 years of Cyclone Amphan, at least 15,000 people in 7 villages were suffering due to the failure to rebuild the two broken bridges over the Algipatakata Canal and Badura Canal in Dhaniasafa and Mirukhali Unions of Mathbaria Upazila of Pirojpur.
The 75-foot-long wooden bridge over the Algipatakata canal in Dhanisafa union of Mathbaria upazila and the 25-foot-long wooden bridge over the Badura canal in Mirukhali union had been broken for several years, causing thousands of pedestrians to risk their lives to travel to several schools, madrasas, markets and the union health complex.
When the matter came to the attention of the local Jubo Dal, the leaders and activists of the union took the initiative to reconstruct the two bridges.
