Barrister Safayet new Chairman of EU

Barrister Safayet Mohammad Raju has been elected as the Chairman of the Eastern University Foundation and the Board of Trustees for the year 2026.

His appointment was unanimously confirmed during the Annual General Meeting (AGM) held on Saturday at the university campus.

Alongside the election of the new Chairman, the AGM also saw the election of Engineer Khandaker Mesbah Uddin Ahmed, Liaquat Hossain Moghul, and S K Sayedur Rahman as Vice Chairmen for 2026. Ismail Zabihullah was elected Treasurer, says a press release.

The meeting, chaired by former Chairman Md Maniruzzaman Molla, reviewed the significant progress made by Eastern University in recent years. Discussions also focused on enhancing the university’s research and development efforts while upholding internationally recognized standards of higher education.
