Shehbaz Sharif signs Khaleda’s condolence book

Pakistan Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Monday signed the condolence book at the Bangladesh High Commission in Islamabad, expressing deep sorrow at the death of former Bangladesh Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia.

The prime minister was received at the High Commission by Acting High Commissioner Israt Jahan, Press Counsellor Md Tayeb Ali, and Counsellor (Consular) Sardar Mohammad Nomanuzzaman, said a press release.
Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Ataullah Tarar and the prime minister’s special assistant Tariq Fatemi were also present.

After signing the condolence book, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif took part in a special prayer, seeking eternal peace for the departed soul of Begum Khaleda Zia.

He conveyed his heartfelt condolences to her family and to the people of Bangladesh.
Recalling Begum Khaleda Zia’s contributions to strengthening bilateral relations, the Pakistani premier said her role in advancing ties between the two countries would be remembered with respect.

He also referred to his meeting with the Chief Adviser of the Bangladesh government and extended his sincere greetings, expressing optimism about further improvement in relations between the two nations in the days ahead.

On behalf of the government and people of Bangladesh, Acting High Commissioner Israt Jahan thanked Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for expressing sympathy and for taking the time to visit the High Commission and sign the condolence book.

Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister and also Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Friday visited the Bangladesh High Commission in Islamabad to sign the condolence book on the Passing Away of the Former Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Begum Khaleda Zia.
