On 12 Nov 2007, Barrister Mainul Hosein, the then Adviser for the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, delivered the presidential address at the launching ceremony of Bangladesh Code held at Sonargaon Hotel auditorium in the capital. The then Chief Adviser Dr Fakhruddin Ahmed and Barbara Richardson, the then Canadian High Commissioner to Bangladesh, were also present.
