BPL players' draft held: Naim gets highest money

Chattogram Royals recruited hard-hitter Mohammad Naim for Taka one crore and 10 lakh for the upcoming Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Cricket. He has got the highest money among the Bangladeshi cricketers.

The BPL players’ draft was held at Radisson Blu Dhaka Water Garden Hotel in the capital on Sunday. Rangpur Riders picked up wicketkeeper-batter Litton Das for Taka 70 lakh.

Rangpur Riders also recruited in-form Towhid Hridoy for 92 lakh in their squad and also picked up promising pacer Nahid Rana for Taka 56 lakh. Dhaka Capitals collected Shamim Hossain for Taka 56 lakh.

They also picked up Mohammad Mithun for Taka 52 lakh. Chattogram Royals recruited Mahmudul Hasan Joy for Taka 37 lakh. Abu Hider joined the squad of Chattogram Royals.

Noakhali Express picked up Jaker Ali and Mahidul Islam Ankon for Taka 35 lakh each.

It were there base price. Rajshahi Warriors recruited promising pacer Tanzim Hasan Sakib for Taka 65 lakh. Dhaka Capitals picked up all-rounder Mohammad Saifuddin for Taka 68 lakh.

Sylhet Titans recruited Khaled Ahmed for Taka 47 lakh. They also recruited Afif Hossain for Taka 22 lakh.

Opener Parvez Hossain Emon joined Sylhet Titans. Besides, Sylhet Titans recruited pacer Ebadot Hossain.

Experienced cricketers Mahmudullah Riyad and Mushfiqur Rahim remained unsold. From the beginning of the BPL players’ auction Riyad and Mushfiqur Rahim’s name were arisen but no franchise were interested to pick up those cricketers.

The 12th edition of Bangladesh Premier League Cricket will start on September 26. Before that the BPL players’ auction was held yesterday. A total of six teams will take part in the forthcoming franchise-based T20 cricket tournament, the most attractive cricket meet of the country.

The teams which will play in this year’s BPL cricket, are: Chattogram Royals, Dhaka Capitals, Rajshahi Warriors, Rangpur Riders, Noakhali Express and Sylhet Titans.
