Khaleda admitted to Hospital for checkup

Staff Reporter:

BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia was taken to Evercare Hospital in the capital on Sunday night for a scheduled health assessment.

“Madam was admitted to Evercare around 8:15 pm for a series of medical examinations as advised by her medical board. She has been placed in a private cabin,” her personal physician Professor AZM Zahid Hossain said.

He added that the medical board will decide the next steps of her treatment after reviewing the test results.

Khaleda, 80, has long been battling multiple health complications, including issues related to the liver, kidneys, heart, lungs, diabetes, arthritis, and vision.

She has been receiving continuous medical care at her Gulshan residence under the supervision of a specialised medical board comprising doctors from Evercare Hospital along with her personal medical team.

Her previous visit to Evercare Hospital was on 15 October, when she underwent several diagnostic tests during a daylong stay.
