BKSP clinch top slot securing 22 gold medals

BKSP clinched the top slot establishing absolute supremacy in the AKM Shamsuzzoha Smriti 31st National Junior Athletics Championship that concluded at the Bangabandhu National Stadium here on Saturday.
Saiful Islam Khan and Tamanna Akhter, both from BKSP, emerged as the fasted man and woman of the meet clinching the 100-meter sprint titles.
Saiful won the 100-meter crown with new national record by covering distance with a timing of 0.53 seconds to better the previous marks of 10.85 seconds while Tamanna clinched the 100-meter title clocking 13.36 seconds.
In the 33 events of the meet, the national sports training institute team BKSP have secured 22 gold, eight silver and seven bronzes to clinch the top spot, Khulna DSA finished distance 2nd with two gold, nine silver and eight bronzes while Narayanganj DSA became 3rd with two gold and one bronze.
Besides, Sheikh Ashrafuzzaman of BKSP, emerged most outstanding athlete of the meet clinching four gold medals making three new national records in the 200 meter, 400 meter and 4X100 meter relay.
